Fiber Optic Preparation Equipment

3SAE Technologies’ fiber preparation equipment presents a versatile solution that is compatible with fiber holders from a broad range of commercially available fusion splicing systems. This compatibility allows our customers to incorporate our comprehensive process control — which includes fiber stripping, fiber cleaning, fiber cleaving, and fiber splicing — into both new and existing manufacturing and R&D environments, ensuring a smooth integration.

Our equipment serves as a turnkey solution for fiber optic splicing and glass processing applications, delivering unmatched efficiency and reliability.

The fiber optic preparation process consists of three critical steps:

  1. Fiber Optic Stripping: Our fiber optic strippers are designed to safely and efficiently strip the protective coating from the optical fiber. This is a vital step as fibers often come with different types of coatings – from acrylate and polyimide to metal – each requiring specific techniques for effective removal. Our equipment adjusts to these variations, ensuring a precise and uniform stripping process.
  2. Fiber Optic Cleaning: Post coating removal, the fiber optic cable needs thorough cleaning to eliminate any residual particles that might interfere with fusion splice quality. Our fiber optic preparation equipment employs advanced cleaning methodologies, guaranteeing a pristine optical fiber surface and thereby enhancing fusion splicing performance.
  3. Fiber Optic Cleaving: The final step in fiber optic preparation involves cleaving the optical fiber. Our optical fiber preparation equipment ensures a clean, precise cleave, which is crucial for a successful fiber splice. Regardless of the cladding diameter — from standard 80µm and 125µm fibers to large diameter fibers reaching up to 1000µm and beyond — our precision-engineered cleaving solutions minimize potential damage, providing an optimal end-face for fusion splicing.

In summary, 3SAE’s fiber optic preparation equipment not only offers flexibility and compatibility across different fusion splicing systems but also provides a meticulously crafted process, designed to accommodate various fiber optic coatings and cladding diameters, thus delivering superior splicing results.
